With Les Chants de Mamoune, you will find high quality biological extra virgin olive oil, extracted from the famous Tanche olives from Nyons.
About us
Fallen in love with the Drôme provencale many years ago, at Les Chants de Mamoune we decided to reconnect with nature and local products. We are currently in the process of rehabilitating an old olive grove, with Tanche olive trees of more than 300 years old. Of course, everything without chemical treatment and taking care of all the good things mother nature brings us.
Extra virgin olive oil
Our motto
From the very beginning, it was clear to us that we wanted to do this in an ecologically responsible way. We also applied for organic certification. We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with a silver medal in 2021 for our extra virgin olive oil.
We work according to the principles of high environmental value, e.g. no chemical treatments, stimulate biological diversity, reduce water consumption, introduce natural predators, green fertilization, ensuring a microbiolological active soil, reduce waste and plastic consumption,....
For each step, we try to think about how it can be done in an ecologically responsible way. As a small example, instead of burning pruned branches, we grind them into wood chips that we use to mulch the soil.
A little background
Closely connected to Le Clos du Papoune, our name was chosen as a little wink and wordplay to Mamoune, who loves to sing and shared her love to garden with us.
At your service
Nyons olive oil is protected by a registered designation of origin (AOC) since a decree issued by the INAO on 10 January 1994. Our olive oil is produced by olive trees growing in Mochatte, a neighborhood in Nyons. Our olive trees are more than 300 years old, but archaeological research has shown that wild olive trees were present in the Mediterranean basin more than 60,000 years ago.
